Who holds your data

Focal Technology, Inc., 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, Delaware 19713, United States, the company behind PreFilm. For plans paid through Whop, Purchase Consulting Services L.L.C-FZ, Meydan Grandstand, 6th Floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Meydan Free Zone licence 2530170.01) receives your name, email and payment record from Whop to bill you. What you give us

Your email address, the YouTube channel you name, what you sell and to whom, your website address, and anything you type into Settings or a board card. If you sign in with Google, Google also gives us your name, profile picture and Google account id, set out in section 4. Payments go through Whop, or through Stripe for accounts started before the change; we never see your card number.

What we read

Public YouTube data about your channel and the channels your buyers watch: titles, view counts, comments and transcripts of public videos, through the YouTube Data API and Supadata. Signing in with Google or connecting your channel lets us read a little more, set out in the next section. PreFilm uses YouTube API Services; by using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

Your Google account and YouTube connection

What we receive

Sign in with Google gives us your email address, name, profile picture and Google account id. Connecting a channel asks Google for the YouTube permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube), which lets PreFilm read that channel's videos, unlisted and private ones included, and change their titles, descriptions and tags. It also asks for YouTube Analytics (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly), which is optional. It is read only. It covers views, watch time, retention, traffic sources, likes, comments, subscribers, and viewers' countries, devices, age and gender. It never includes revenue. Google gives us a refresh token for it.

What we do with it

We use the email and the id to sign you in; the name and picture are stored with your account and not used anywhere in PreFilm. The YouTube permission checks which channel the Google account manages, lists that channel's own videos when you or your assistant ask, and changes a title, description or tags only after you confirm the exact change. YouTube Analytics is read only when you ask for it, and its reports are not stored, except the search phrases you ask to grow from, kept with their results.

Where it is kept and who sees it

The email, name, picture and id are stored with your account in Supabase. The refresh token is stored encrypted and used only for the actions above. The channel's video list and each change, before and after, are kept so a change can be undone. We do not sell what we receive from your Google account, use it for advertising or use it to train AI models. It reaches only the processors listed under Where it lives, and only as far as running PreFilm for you needs.

How to revoke

Disconnect in Settings, which hands the grant back to Google and deletes the token and anything the connection fetched. The dates of past changes stay, without their text, so the day's limits still count them. Or remove PreFilm at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions: the token stops working there and then, and we delete it the next time PreFilm uses the connection, or within 25 days.

Limited Use

PreFilm's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use AI

Titles, transcripts, comments and your business details are sent to Anthropic's models to write your ideas, scripts and roasts. They are not used to train those models.

Where it lives

Your data is stored with Supabase and served by Vercel. Other processors receive what their part needs: Anthropic's models write ideas, scripts and roasts; Voyage AI compares titles, comments and what you sell by meaning; Supadata finds channels and videos and fetches transcripts; Google's YouTube Data API returns channel and video details; DataForSEO and Keywords Everywhere return search volumes for phrases, the search phrases from YouTube Analytics you ask to grow from included, and the phrases your website ranks for; Whop takes payments, and Stripe those of accounts started before the change; Resend sends our emails. PostHog shows us which screens work and which do not, and DataFast shows us which pages bring paying customers. Whop's ads pixel, set out under Cookies, measures the ads PreFilm runs through Whop on Meta.

Cookies

Our own cookies keep you signed in, remember the analysis you started, the channel you picked, your light or dark choice and whether you last signed in with Google or a link, hold the Google connection step while it runs, and keep whether the ads pixel asks first where you are browsing from and your answer to it. PostHog and DataFast set their own analytics cookies. DataFast's are datafast_visitor_id and datafast_session_id, and the visitor id is passed to Whop or Stripe with your checkout so a sale is credited to the page that brought you. Whop's ads pixel sets one advertising cookie, _wuid, a visitor id, on the public pages, /start and the paywall, and never in the app once you have a plan. It records the pages you open there, the start of a free analysis with the email you type into the form, and details of your browser and device that let it recognise the browser again, and it adds the visitor id to the link when you go to Whop's checkout. PreFilm uses it to measure and improve the ads it runs through Whop on Meta. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland it loads only after you accept it in the bar at the foot of the page; Decline keeps it off, and your answer is kept for six months.

Deleting your data

Email hp@roughwatermedia.com from the address on your account and we delete the account, its channels, ideas and scripts within 7 days, and any YouTube connection token, which we also hand back to Google. Whop and Stripe keep the payment records the law requires.

The Chrome extension

If you install the PreFilm extension, it reads the video ids and channel names on the YouTube pages you look at and asks PreFilm for each channel's normal. It sends no page content and no watch history, and lookups are counted, never stored against your account. In YouTube Studio, on a PreFilm plan, it reads the title, description and tags of the video you are editing and checks them in your browser; it sends the title and description to PreFilm only when you press Get title ideas or Check description, and they are not kept. It holds a token that signs it in as you; remove it in Settings or by uninstalling the extension.
